Hey Rockport! We KNOW you appreciate good music! So head on down to The Sugar Shack on Fulton Beach Road to hear our friend Hilda Lamas and the Hilda Lamas Band! She starts belting out the classics starting at 9:30 and they will keep you dancing all night long!

The Havana Club will have our friends Latin Talk tonight starting at 10pm. Bring your Salsa Shoes ’cause these guys are HOT!

Everyone is talking about Scarecrow People and you can hear them TONIGHT at the Executive Surf Club….and there is NO COVER CHARGE!

One of our favorite Smooth Jazz bands, Latin Influenze, will be playing tonight at the Beachside Bar and Grill on the Island! Music starts at 7 !

And of course, Brewster Street can always be counted on for great music! Tonight they have Middle of the Road playing at 9 with tickets only $5 and available after 8pm. Enjoy some of their wonderful food on their gigantic patio! It’s always a good time!

 

 

 

The Producers Opening THIS Friday! 7/22

That’s RIGHT! “The Producers” opens this Friday and promises to be the HIT of the Summer Season! Tickets for Opening Night and Opening Weekend are selling out FAST!! Visit them online or better yet, CALL 851-9700 to get your tickets NOW!

For those that don’t know, the Aurora Arts Theatre is the city’s newest community theatre, having been opened for about 18 months.  Past shows have included “Cabaret”, “Footloose”, “The Full Monty” and “The Rocky Horror Show” (which is coming BACK this fall!). This family owned, non-profit community theatre has 110 seats so it provides a very intimate theatrical experience! They even have a concession stand and you are welcome to enjoy popcorn, sodas, beer and wine while you enjoy seeing some of the areas most TALENTED artists perform! Spend intermission browsing the lobby filled with art from local artists! Enjoy a show that has LIVE music, NOT canned accompanment! FREE Municipal Band Concert 7/17

There are only a FEW performances left for the Summer Municipal Band Concert Series of 2011 honoring the late Mr. Loren Hall. The Municipal Band has a GREAT show in store for tonight with selections from some of Broadway’s most popular shows! You will hear selections from “The Phantom of the Opera”, “My Fair Lady”, “Fiddler on the Roof”, “Les Miserables” and MORE! So bring some lawn chairs or a blanket, snacks and your favorite friends (furry or otherwise) and head on down to Heritage Park (across the street from American Bank Center). The band will be set up in front of Galvan House so there is plenty of room to stretch out and listen to some great music under the stars! Show starts at 8:30 and lasts approx. 1 hour. Rocky Horror is COMING!

You know it…..you LOVE it….so why not be IN IT?? That’s RIGHT, The Rocky Horror Show is RETURNING to the Aurora Arts Theatre stage this fall! Auditions are SOON! TRY OUT!

   

The Aurora Arts Theatre announces open auditions for their community theatre production of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, directed by Bryan Davis and choreographed by Angela Borrego. Auditions will be held Tuesday, July 26 and Wednesday, July 27 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Aurora Arts Theatre (5635 Everhart Road).  You may choose to attend one or both nights of auditions. This production will run from September 23-October 31, 2011. All roles are available (please see below for more information). For this audition, please be prepared to perform readings from the script, a choreographed dance (which you will learn on-site), and selections from the following songs (from the show): Late Night Double Feature and Rose Tint My World (Floorshow). You MAY also bring 16 bars of a song of your choice with your own backing music (no vocals; must be on CD or in mp3 format).

Due to the mature nature of this show, you must be 16 or older to audition (those under age 18 must receive parental consent).

Synopsis
The Rocky Horror Show is a risque tale of a couple who has car trouble and seeks refuge in an eerie mansion. They soon discover their host is a “sweet transvestite from Transylvania.”
